![]() ![]() Let's say Paul and his hand sweep, for me it looks like a launch punishable move, altough it's not ( I have no idea why, I can't visually react to this while playing online ). Why I need the numbers and the move list is to defend against the characters that I know little about, let's say Baek/Hwoarang - knowing that b+3 is a launch punish allows me to fish for that move and change the outcome of the game, other than that I don't really know where to duck or how to sidestep him, the animations aren't very helpful. Of course I would love to move better and side step like a pro but I can't learn that, I don't even know how to begin because there are so many moves that semi track. I am terrible at execution that is why I try to level up my game by knowing the numbers. There are characters that I know fairly well and can deal with pretty easily, but at the other hand there are characters that can do almost whatever they have and I won't be sure how to punish them. Sorry if I didn't actually answer your question, but I don't think learning frame data is really essential to improving at the game.Īctually I am very pleased with your answer. Besides, in your average game there are only a handful of moves from each character that actually get used, so learning the whole set won't actually be of any use. ![]() There are plenty of other aspects of the game to learn (movement mostly) which will improve your gameplay much more than learning frame data. I've played the game casually since T3, and competitively since 5.0, and I still don't know frame data for every character. Knowing whether a move is +1 or +2 on hit won't actually make you better at the game. For the amount of effort spent in learning the frames of moves, you don't actually gain much out of it. If you get to the point of learning frame data, chances are you should already know most of the moves that are launch punishable.įrame data is mostly used for fine-tuning your gameplay. IMO, you're not gonna learn much if you're wanting to learn frame data for the sole purpose of learning what is launch punishable, because there are not many commonly used moves from each character that are launch punishable, and for the moves that are, they are usually quite obvious by the recovery animation. Some of the less obvious ones would be Hwoarang's b+3, Nina's b+1+4, Law's d+2,3, and Bruce's d+4 There aren't many moves which aren't obviously -15 or higher just by looking at the recovery animation. new characters when a new Tekken comes out). I'm not sure if it's because I've played the game for years, but most moves you can kind of tell when it's launch punishable or not by the recovery animation, even if you haven't seen the move before (i.e. ![]()
